Development of many promising drugs is frequently abandoned because of difficulties in formulation, toxicity, or indiscriminate targeting. These obstacles can often be overcome using Drug Conjugation, augmenting the active moiety with a carrier molecule to improve the drug’s solubility, pharmacokinetics, and/or toxicity profile, and to potentially allow the drug to be selectively targeted to a specific cell or tissue type.
Eurand’s drug conjugation technology is focused on investigating the innovation and expansion of this technology using the hyaluronic acid molecule.
Based on strategic initiatives, the Company has chosen to out-license the Drug Conjugation technology at this time, and will discontinue all internal investment in this technology platform.
For those interested in licensing the Drug Conjugation technology, or for questions regarding Intellectual Property and/or product development programs utilizing this technology platform, please contact Dr. Robert Becker (+39-02-95428357, or contact Eurand).
