In-licensing Strategy
Eurand has an active in-licensing program for products, technologies, and compounds.
Eurand is a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures, and commercializes pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products. As part of our strategy to further the development of our product portfolio, we seek to enter into licensing arrangements with companies and academic institutions.
- Examples of these activities include:
- The in-licensing of EUR-1073 for the U.S. and Canada. EUR-1073 is a controlled-release formulation of beclomethasone dipropionate, marketed in Europe for use in the treatment of ulcerative colitis by Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A.
- The in-licensing of an orally-disintegrating tablet (ODT) technology from Kyowa Hakko (Japan)
- The in-licensing of a number of development stage compounds from universities in Italy.
- Our drug development and drug formulation technology platforms allow us to bring products from conception to market. Our Zenpep™ pancreatic enzyme product, which was recently approved by the FDA, was developed entirely in-house and will be marketed in the U.S. by Eurand’s specialty sales force.
Our primary focus is on gastrointestinal diseases and cystic fibrosis, and we are particularly interested in opportunities in these fields.
