Commercialized Products

The Eurand product portfolio is focused primarily on the therapeutic category of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders and cystic fibrosis. Using our own sales and marketing team, Eurand is currently commercializing the portfolio for cystic fibrosis patients in the United States, and will expand the sales force to address the commercial needs as appropriate.

Zenpep™

The lead product in this portfolio is ZENPEP® (pancrelipase) Delayed-Release Capsules. Marketed by Eurand in the U.S., ZENPEP is a pancreatic enzyme product (PEP) indicated for the treatment of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) due to cystic fibrosis (CF) or other conditions.

EUR-1073

Eurand also currently has a late-stage proprietary product candidate in development for our own portfolio, EUR-1073 is a beclomethasone dipropionate formulation, currently marketed in certain countries in Europe by Chiesi Farmaceutici, S.p.A., for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis, Eurand received an orphan drug designation from the FDA in the first quarter of 2009 for intended use in pediatric ulcerative colitis.

Eurand also has several other co-development and proprietary products that are in various earlier stages of research and development, and the company continues to advance and develop additional products using their proprietary drug formulation technologies.

SourceCF Product Portfolio

Eurand currently has a U.S. based commercial group of highly-experienced sales and sales support professionals dedicated to providing a portfolio of products and services to the CF community (patients, physicians and care givers). The SourceCF product portfolio most notably includes a portfolio of vitamins, designed specifically for CF patients, and the TRIO^® (formerly marketed under the name eFlow^® ) electronic nebulizer, a device frequently prescribed by physicians for CF patients who are required to administer therapies via nebulization. The sales professionals promoting the SourceCF product portfolio currently call on the Cystic Fibrosis Treatment Centers, as well as selected office-based gastroenterologists and pulmonologists, throughout the United States.

The breadth and flexibility of our pharmaceutical technologies enable us to develop novel formulation solutions and products. Currently more than 40 products, spanning a range of therapeutic categories, have been developed by Eurand and are commercialized by our partners in different countries around the world.

SELECTED IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Warnings and Precautions
Fibrosing colonopathy is a rare serious adverse reaction associated with high-dose use of pancreatic enzyme replacement products and most commonly reported in pediatric patients with CF. Exercise caution when doses of ZENPEP exceed 2,500 lipase units/kg of body weight per meal (or greater than 10,000 lipase units/kg of body weight per day).

To avoid irritation of oral mucosa or inactivation of enzymes, do not chew ZENPEP capsules or beads or retain in the mouth.

Exercise caution when prescribing ZENPEP to patients with gout, renal impairment, or hyperuricemia.

There is theoretical risk of viral transmission with all pancreatic enzyme products including ZENPEP.

Exercise caution when administering pancrelipase to a patient with a known allergy to proteins of porcine origin.

Adverse reactions
The most common adverse events (>6% of patients treated with ZENPEP) are abdominal pain, flatulence, headache, cough, decreased weight, early satiety, and contusion.
