What made you choose Eurand?
Eurand is one of the few companies in Italy involved in research and development of pharmaceuticals – particularly in formulation development, which I specialize in. When I started looking for a job I read a Eurand job offer for an R&D formulation scientist. The position was interesting especially because Eurand was looking for someone with a PhD. It matched with what I wanted to do; it was the best opportunity for a scientist.
What are Eurand's strong points?
Eurand is an international company that has developed FDA-approved products. It is well organized and it offers many ongoing training opportunities, such as participation in courses and congresses.
I have had the opportunity to go to New York City to the Controlled Release Society (CRS) conference. I also participated in a course in Frankfurt on pharmaceutical bioavailability. And I’ve had the chance to work on very stimulating projects, such as the one I followed on Eurand’s Biorise® technology.
Describe your job responsibilities
With my team I am in charge of implementing formulation development projects, starting from pre-formulation, to prototype development right up to lab scale production of a finished pharmaceutical product. I constantly work with other departments (QA, Regulatory, Medical, Production), and we are all dedicated to reaching a common goal.
