Formulation Scientist
Location: Milan, Italy
Needed to contribute to Eurand’s scientific activities, by designing and conducting experiments to develop novel formulations for the products in the Company’s portfolio
Tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement formulation strategies selecting the most appropriate of the technology platforms available in Eurand to meet the target product profile.
- Identify and develop novel technology platforms which can be used to overcome formulation issues (e.g. poor/slow absorption, unpleasant taste, rapid eliminations, etc) of orally delivered compounds and generate intellectual property around these platforms.
- Generate the appropriate documentation related to the development and validation of the novel formulations.
- Maintain a state-of the art scientific/technical knowledge and disseminate the scientific information within the group.
Requirements
A university degree in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology as well as familiarity with the current scientific developments in the field of drug delivery (e.g. solubilisation techniques, biopharmaceutics, etc.) are required. A post-graduate specialization (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Technology and/or Biopharmaceutics is highly desirable.
Professional skills and experience
- A minimum of five years relevant industry experience in formulation development within an international company is essential. This includes experience in drug development process, manufacturing scale up, knowledge of the regulations which apply. Experience in the formulation of solid dosage forms is desirable.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexible team player with good communication and interpersonal skills – team leadership experience a plus.
- Well organized and deadline oriented
