Basic Function:

The position is that of an experienced market analyst familiar with pharmaceutical products and their quantitative value over the term of the lifecycle. The candidate should be familiar with the positioning of products in their therapeutic class and be able to understand and anticipate evolving market dynamics and to anticipate the impact of emerging and declining products and treatment modalities. The candidate should have strong numerate skills and be financially fluent; the candidate must be able to compile probability-weighted quantitative projections and valuations from assumptions made regarding development costs, timelines, lifecycle and market positioning.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and value new product opportunities created through the application of the Company technology portfolio to existing products and in-licensing from the Company corporate function.
  • Be an integral part of each function to identify and develop new product opportunities.
  • As part of the search function team, contribute to project progress and enable swift decision-making on pipeline opportunities.
  • Establish and co-ordinate relationships with internal business functions, including Corporate, Medical, Regulatory, Marketing and commercial for a timely and efficient achievement of Company objectives.
  • Co-ordinate external market research organizations to provide data input for analysis.
  • Provide support and recommendations to senior management.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • An MBA or bachelors degree, very preferably in the natural sciences; with a minimum of 5 years experience in the analysis of pharmaceutical markets with an established pharmaceutical company.
  • A knowledge of the US regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills including the ability to negotiate, consult and direct across functional areas.
  • Proven ability to deliver in an environment where multiple development projects are in process and must be completed in a timely manner.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal; ability to make presentations as appropriate.
  • Some International travel is required.
